Media stations like to pursue ultra promising leads and have so much that does come into them on a daily basis that they just work with what they already have in their inbox faaaaar more often than they report things that they individually/personally care about as people, especially since their careers are a service to the public (so they cater to what the public wants according to what the public explicitly tells them - which also means the more people email them press releases about this unjust murder, the more likely it is to actually receive media coverage). Have you guys sent out any press releases about it? I used to work in marketing in my college days and a lot of stuff that people know about locally that didn’t make the news didn’t make it out of literal ignorance (as in the news station literally did not know about it) because there was never a press release sent in or a phone call to the local station, no interview made, etc, etc. Of course, with median household income in the city $34,731 / year, that's definitely out of reach. Like, if you can't afford a house there (median list price $369k), you're not welcome. The affluent town was named in the articles because they have literally NO apartments. There were a couple local news articles that revealed 80% of cities and towns don't meet that criteria (and the loopholes they used to keep affordable housing out).which is sad but not surprising. This city shared a border with an extremely affluent town that had/has the best school district in the state. Not that long ago, the city had a 50% high school graduation rate.
